Never give up on someone with a mental illness. When “I” is replaced by “We”, Illness become wellness. -Shannon L. Alder

I would like to say first before I say anything else: The main reason I prayed to not to have to take prescribed medications and other drugs is because of what they do to you while taking and if stop taking abruptly can kill you, turn you into a mental wreck, cause more sickness, etc..  I honestly do believe a lot of the mental issues we see in this country are due to medications and statin medication has been known to cause aggressive and violent behavior in women.

Statin users have a higher incidence of nerve degeneration and pain, memory loss, confusion, depression, and a higher risk of ALS and Parkinson’s, according to Dr. David Williams in his July 2014 Alternatives newsletter. Statins also decrease carotenoid levels. Carotenoids, which are found in fresh fruits and vegetables and act as antioxidants, have a number of benefits, including protecting against cell damage, aging, and chronic diseases.

The list goes on and on and read the article:

We need to seriously consider writing to our legislatures letting them know our concerns on all of the new prescription medications constantly be approved by the FDA.  We have way too many sick people in this country and why should they be prescribed something which can make the matter even worse. Does anybody care anymore about curing people? Do the people who take these medications care about healing? There are many ways to heal instead of prescribed medications.

“While it is now clear from the science that cholesterol is not the demon behind heart disease, it’s equally clear that poor eating habits, lack of exercise, and obesity are direct causes. The good news is that heart disease can be entirely reversed through diet! In a recent article, Dr. Joseph Mercola stated that the Paleo diet can be very effective in reducing blood pressure and triglyceride levels—more effective, actually, than any statin drug. In addition, Dr. Mercola recommends a ketogenic diet, which actually increases fat intake, albeit using healthy fats.”

A Classic Love Story Girl Meets Drums by Valerie Cheers Brown

Yes, folks, there was a period in our history when the essential percussionists and drummers were ladies. The initially named drummer in history was a Mesopotamian priestess named Lipushiau. She lived in the city condition of Ur in 2380 BC, which around then had vanquished all the encompassing city-states. She was the otherworldly, monetary and authoritative leader of the Ekishnugal, the most imperative sanctuary in Ur devoted to the moon god, Nanna-Suen. Her token of office was the balag-di, a little round edge drum used to lead ritualistic droning. In 2380 BC, Lipushiau ruled!

Drums have always fascinated me and in my spare time and before I die, my plan is to  learn more about their history and actually one day play with my fiance, soon to be husband. But, first I have to take lessons and I mean very personal lessons from him and only him.  😉 My fiance just happens to be a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and a renown legend listed out of 100 of the greatest drummers of all time as number 68. I am so proud of him and his accomplishments and he just happens to be my friend for life and mentor!  I got to learn from the best to be the best! lol You may or may not know him, but he has played with some legends such as The Five Stairsteps, The Chambers Brothers, The Unifics the Parliament Funkadelic, Mutiny, OFM Other Funky Music, amongst an awesome array of many contributions and compilations.

The drums were lovely, from a wide range of societies and the majority of them had a place with the group of edge drums.

The historical backdrop of the casing drum whose purpose of starting point gives off an impression of being the old societies of the old Mediterranean world. There are infrequent representations of hourglass formed drums or kettledrums, however, the edge drum is by a wide margin the most conspicuous drum. For no less than 3,500 years, c. 3000 BC to 500 AD, it was the essential percussive instrument.

From the human advancements of Anatolia (Old Turkey), Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece and Rome, the Goddess and the edge drum develop as the center daze and otherworldly religious customs.

The casing drum at the focal point of the most seasoned rave like social occasions — it was the most established innovation for adjusting cognizance. The riddle ceremonies would keep going for quite a long time at once with relentless drumming and moving.

An edge drum is characterized by the distance across of the drumhead being much bigger than the profundity of its shell. The shells go inside and out from 2″ to at generally 6″. They extend in breadth from 4″ to 30″. A large portion of these drums are versatile and can be held in one hand.

The edge drum regularly has a skin on just a single side yet once in a while it might have skins extended crosswise over both sides. Chimes or jingling and rattling actualizes might be joined to within edge, and in antiquated circumstances were accepted to add to the drum’s energy to sanitize, scatter and summon. Regularly the drums were painted red, the shade of blood, or here and there green, the shade of vegetation, the primordial shades of life. Otherworldly outlines and images may likewise be painted on the skin-head or the wooden edge. Strings or strips hitched with custom petitions or droning frequently swung from them.

The drum was the methods our progenitors used to summon the goddess and furthermore the instrument through which she talked. The drumming priestess was the middle person amongst celestial and human domains. Adjusting herself to holy rhythms, she went about as summoner and transformer, conjuring divine vitality and transmitting it to the group.

The most punctual known portrayal of any drum was painted on a holy place room divider in 5600 BC in a Neolithic city in what is presently Turkey. The place of worship room divider portrays a gathering of delightedly moving figures, some of which seem to have percussion instruments. A band of human figures clad in panther skins play different percussion instruments as they move joyfully around an expansive bull. One figure holds a horn formed instrument in one hand and a casing drum in the other. Different figures convey what look like shakers or rattles, and also bowed instruments like the Brazilian berimbau. The exhuming excavator, James Mellaart, has uncovered various different sanctuaries in this city respecting an incredible goddess, and he trusts that essentially priestesses tended these places of worship. To date, the divider painting is our most established confirmation of a goddess-based custom in which the edge drum was utilized as a part of happy ceremonies.

From 3000 to 2500 BC, composed records of the Sumerians depict the goddess Inanna as the maker of the casing drum, alongside all other melodic instruments. They recount Inanna’s priestesses who sang and droned to the rhythms of round and square edge drums. Alongside the composed writings, various dolls of ladies playing little edge drums have been found. These drumming ceremonies were carried on in the later love of Ishtar, Asherah, Ashtoreth, Astarte, and Anat in Mesopotamia, Phoenicia, Palestine, and Assyria. Somewhere close to 2000 and 1500 BC, the casing drum touches base in Egypt. James Blades reports, “All records from this period (Middle Kingdom) demonstrate the entertainers as ladies; in reality the entire routine of the specialty of music seems to have been altogether endowed to the reasonable sex, with one outstanding exemption, the god Bes, who is every now and again spoke to with a drum with round and hollow body (outline drum).”

It is imperative to fathom the centrality of ladies’ control of holy music and move in Egypt. Religious services in view of music and move can synchronize the hidden vitality of the psyche and straightforwardly impact our impression of reality. Custom impacts our methods of mindfulness that both underlie and rise above the ordinary examples of awareness. Customs can be utilized to stir and shape aggregate feeling and conduct, building up a constant shared cognizance. Music vibrationally transmits perspectives specifically from cognizance to awareness. Along these lines, politically, music can resound all the while on much more levels — passionate, profound, scholarly and physical — than can words alone. As music starts changes in gathering cognizance, it can influence incomprehensible social and monetary cycles.

The Biblical grounds have likewise yielded various pictures of ladies playing the edge drum. Old Testament writings allude to the tambourine as the toph, which as been deciphered as the timbrel and the tabret. Mass migration 15:20, “And Miriam, the prophetess, sister of Aaron and Moses, took a timbrel in her grasp, then the ladies went out after her with timbrels and with moves.” In a few legends it is said that Miriam separated the Red Sea with the shamanistic force of her drumming.

In Greece, the absolute most excellent representations of the edge drum are found on the red-figured vase canvases from the fifth century BC. The casing drum entered Greece from a few distinct headings — from Cyprus, one of the principle focuses of the religion of Aphrodite where the casing drum was noticeable from no less than 1000 BC, and furthermore from Crete, where it was utilized as a part of the customs of Ariadne, Rhea and Dionysos.

Pre-established Greece likewise observed the presentation of the religion of the goddess Cybele, from Western Anatolia. The tympanum, the Greek edge drum, was the primary instrument of the maenads, the ladies starts, in the love of Cybele and Dionysos, and the priestesses of Artemis, Demeter and Aphrodite additionally played them. Both single-headed and twofold headed edge drums show up, at the end of the day played solely by ladies.

The most recent 30 years have seen an emotional ascent in the quantity of expert ladies artists, however, there are still quite a few ladies seeking after drumming, including myself. Albeit little is thought about the historical backdrop of casing drums and the ladies performers who played them, it is an essential piece of our percussive history. What’s more, the antiquated conventions of utilizing drumming for otherworldly purposes can call attention to what we have lost.

Let Go Let God by Valerie Cheers Brown

Patriotism means to stand by the country. It doesn’t mean to stand by the president or any other public official. – Theodore Roosevelt
Patriotism is voluntary. It is the feeling of loyalty.
We can learn from each and every leader of this country whether good or bad but isn’t that the flesh.   Who should be really following?
Just like God allows us to struggle to make us stronger and even when bad things happen we should learn from those, but do we in this country?
When we continuously tell criminals they should be punished for hurting another or taking a life, or even a kid who stole something who keeps doing the same thing over and over again but aren’t we as a nation just as bad if not worst?
We keep doing the same things over and over again and if they did not work that many times, why are we still doing the same thing?  Isn’t it time for anybody with some guts and courage to do just say we have had enough?
Albert Einstein is broadly credited with exclaiming “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”. It truly doesn’t make a difference that there’s truly no proof that Einstein really put forth this expression; it’s still an awesome quote
What about saving people’s lives and isn’t the oath for doctors, “First Do No Harm?” Why do we continue to kill innocent people with a poisonous and very lethal toxin treatment that we know does not help? Better still, why do we even do what we know is wrong, but we still go ahead and do anyway because the flesh tells us, “This is all we can do for you at this point and if you don’t you will die?”
Isn’t God the only one who knows this, yet we still keep doing the same thing over and over again. If we want respect, don’t we have to give it first?
What happened to having faith in God’s healing and believing which truth be told, is the only way we will be healed.
We are supposed to be following Him and He is the leader of this world and we need to follow Him and only Him and not the flesh.  Isn’t this what we preach all of the time in our churches, yet when it comes around to political time, where is the first time only presence of a political figure, when the church and God ‘s leadership is only used when money is considered and whether we like it or not we get to vote who we want to see in office, but does it even matter?
Our ancestors fought for us to have the right to vote, but not to use God in vain to do this. We have forgotten all about God and now we expect things to be the way we want them be because we voted? Is everything suppose to be okay simply because you voted?
What about God and how and where does He come into the picture? Was it election night or was when they had debates? Why don’t we need him when we first see the sun in the morning, or before we eat, and at night before we sleep?
We don’t just do things because according to man it is the right thing to do.  It just does not work this or that way when it comes to God.
We do we are doomed if we don’t put God first in this country and this goes for everybody who says “We need God back in the schools!” Of course, we need God everywhere and each and everyday of our lives and we should keep Him with us just like He never leaves us, but why do we only call upon on Him when we get into a tight spot?
We cannot just call upon on Him on, i.e. election night or just whenever we need something to happen.  God wants something to happen and He is showing us all right now who is in charge.
I rest my case.  Until we put God first we will continue to be a very unhappy country doing absolutely nothing but complaining on social media. God has once again given us a platform where now we can really do something to make a difference and boy, do we need Good News being shared right now to the world which I know God is listening to and I see with my own two eyes how He is listening.  God will hear if nobody else will and also He will make sure the ones who need to hear do hear loud and clear.  We have to be quiet in order to hear Him and right now way too much unGodlike stuff is going on.

“Ask Not What Your Country Can Do For You”

John F. Kennedy’s Inaugural Address, January 20, 1961

We observe today not a victory of party, but a celebration of freedom — symbolizing an end, as well as a beginning — signifying renewal, as well as change. For I have sworn before you and Almighty God the same solemn oath our forebears prescribed nearly a century and three quarters ago.

The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life. And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe — the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God.

We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution. Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans — born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage — and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this Nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world.

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

This much we pledge — and more.

To those old allies whose cultural and spiritual origins we share, we pledge the loyalty of faithful friends. United, there is little we cannot do in a host of cooperative ventures. Divided, there is little we can do — for we dare not meet a powerful challenge at odds and split asunder.

To those new States whom we welcome to the ranks of the free, we pledge our word that one form of colonial control shall not have passed away merely to be replaced by a far more iron tyranny. We shall not always expect to find them supporting our view. But we shall always hope to find them strongly supporting their own freedom — and to remember that, in the past, those who foolishly sought power by riding the back of the tiger ended up inside.

To those peoples in the huts and villages across the globe struggling to break the bonds of mass misery, we pledge our best efforts to help them help themselves, for whatever period is required — not because the Communists may be doing it, not because we seek their votes, but because it is right. If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.

To our sister republics south of our border, we offer a special pledge — to convert our good words into good deeds — in a new alliance for progress — to assist free men and free governments in casting off the chains of poverty. But this peaceful revolution of hope cannot become the prey of hostile powers. Let all our neighbours know that we shall join with them to oppose aggression or subversion anywhere in the Americas. And let every other power know that this Hemisphere intends to remain the master of its own house.

To that world assembly of sovereign states, the United Nations, our last best hope in an age where the instruments of war have far outpaced the instruments of peace, we renew our pledge of support — to prevent it from becoming merely a forum for invective — to strengthen its shield of the new and the weak — and to enlarge the area in which its writ may run.

Finally, to those nations who would make themselves our adversary, we offer not a pledge but a request: that both sides begin anew the quest for peace, before the dark powers of destruction unleashed by science engulf all humanity in planned or accidental self-destruction.

We dare not tempt them with weakness. For only when our arms are sufficient beyond doubt can we be certain beyond doubt that they will never be employed.

But neither can two great and powerful groups of nations take comfort from our present course — both sides overburdened by the cost of modern weapons, both rightly alarmed by the steady spread of the deadly atom, yet both racing to alter that uncertain balance of terror that stays the hand of mankind’s final war.

So let us begin anew — remembering on both sides that civility is not a sign of weakness, and sincerity is always subject to proof. Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate.

Let both sides explore what problems unite us instead of belabouring those problems which divide us.

Let both sides, for the first time, formulate serious and precise proposals for the inspection and control of arms — and bring the absolute power to destroy other nations under the absolute control of all nations.

Let both sides seek to invoke the wonders of science instead of its terrors. Together let us explore the stars, conquer the deserts, eradicate disease, tap the ocean depths, and encourage the arts and commerce.

Let both sides unite to heed in all corners of the earth the command of Isaiah — to “undo the heavy burdens -. and to let the oppressed go free.”

And if a beachhead of cooperation may push back the jungle of suspicion, let both sides join in creating a new endeavour, not a new balance of power, but a new world of law, where the strong are just and the weak secure and the peace preserved.

All this will not be finished in the first 100 days. Nor will it be finished in the first 1,000 days, nor in the life of this Administration, nor even perhaps in our lifetime on this planet. But let us begin.

In your hands, my fellow citizens, more than in mine, will rest the final success or failure of our course. Since this country was founded, each generation of Americans has been summoned to give testimony to its national loyalty. The graves of young Americans who answered the call to service surround the globe.

Now the trumpet summons us again — not as a call to bear arms, though arms we need; not as a call to battle, though embattled we are — but a call to bear the burden of a long twilight struggle, year in and year out, “rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation” — a struggle against the common enemies of man: tyranny, poverty, disease, and war itself.

Can we forge against these enemies a grand and global alliance, North and South, East and West, that can assure a more fruitful life for all mankind? Will you join in that historic effort?

In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility — I welcome it. I do not believe that any of us would exchange places with any other people or any other generation. The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavour will light our country and all who serve it — and the glow from that fire can truly light the world.

And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.

My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.

Finally, whether you are citizens of America or citizens of the world, ask of us the same high standards of strength and sacrifice which we ask of you. With a good conscience our only sure reward, with history the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God’s work must truly be our own.
